ChemProject price lists are stored in encrypted form (please note, however, that import/exports formats like Excel or XML are not encrypted). They can be additionally protected with an administrator password for read/write access with no password required for read-only access. Finally, for highly sensitive data, also a read-access password can be assigned.

Follow the steps below to protect a price list:

  1. Go to the Price List section of the application. Then click the Tools menu and select the Protect menu item, which will open following dialog:



  2. Now specify an Administrator Password. Everyone with this password now can edit the price list, users without a password have read-only access. If desired a User Access Password can be additionally assigned; please not that users will have to enter this password every time they launch ChemProject.

  3. After clicking OK, another dialog appears for optionally entering your administrator information. 



    Protected price lists display the Administrator Info button in the toolbar. Clicking this button displays above administrator & deputy information to all users, which allows them to conveniently contact you or your deputy in case of any issues:



  4. The Admin Login button to the right of the Administrator Info button allows you to log in as administrator.
